Diwali means “Festival of lights”, there is no reason to celebrate it with noise polluting and air polluting fire crackers, Using of fire crackers does not make any sense at all for Diwali. Diwali is celebrated for the following reason. Please note, when Lord Rama returned after victory no one used firecrackers and also for other historical stories. Diwali is only festival of lights. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, from his 14-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. The festival starts with Dhanteras on which most Indian business communities begin their financial year. The second day of the festival, Naraka Chaturdasi, marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Amavasya, the third day of Diwali, marks the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Disadvantages of using fire crackers are, 1. Noise pollution 2. Air pollution due to chemical, it will affect all other animals, birds and of course we will hurt ourselves with chemicals 3. It will make heart patients to suffer more due to fire crackers 4. It will make ways to create Fire accidents especially in Slum areas and in small towns, villages 5. Waste of Money in buying Fire Crackers. If everyone avoid buying fire crackers, then Fire Crackers factories in Sivakasi will automatically be closed they can find some other good jobs to live in earth not with these kind stupid fire crackers chemicals. It will also avoid using Child labour in Sivakasi fire factories. Please think all these and avoid using Fire Crackers during Diwali. Please also remember Sivakasi fire accidents before buying fire crackers. We should not encourage them by buying fire crackers that will lead more fire accidents in future. There are numerous number of jobs are available and they should not depend on these fire factories anymore. Celebrate it with Dance, good and mild music, sweets and lights but not with Air polluting chemicals in Fire Crackers. Do not waste money in buying Fire Crackers and do not encourage children to do so.
