Do You Ever Feel a False Sense of Hunger? Understand the role of Leptin, a hormone that regulates feelings of hunger and fullness. Did you know that inflammation causes leptin resistance? This means leptin cannot get into your cells, thus causing a false sense of feeling hungrier. For many Americans who are trying to lose weight, this causes overeating. Inflammation also negatively effects our blood sugar levels, thus body fat levels. By avoiding corn products and other genetically modified foods such as soy and foods containing gluten (to name a few) we can start developing improved awareness of mindful eating habits. Tonight’s quiz will challenge you to explore the relationship of sugars on our metabolism: True or False? Fructose or the type of sugar found in fruit, unlike glucose is metabolized in the liver.
