Do to my health issues, I havent had the strength or energy to do any yard work at my home for 15 months. Yesterday we came home to find the front strip of grass along the sidewalk wowed. This morning I go out and find a man mowing my lawn. He was hired by one of my neighbors to clean up my yard. What a wonderful gesture. Guess who is getting homemade cookies from me? :) Many of my friends often comment that they are praying for me, which is nice. But doing something for me is much more appreciated and needed. A phone call, card, visit, dropping off a home cooked dish, an invite for lunch or dinner are more meaningful to me. Lets face it, if you are walking down the street and you see an older person fall, you dont shout Im praying for you and then keep walking. You ask to help them up. Its the same thing with someone dealing with a terminal illness. Keep in mind that I am by myself Monday thru Friday. I eat all my meals by myself. An occasional invite for lunch or dinner would be such a nice change. If we go out to eat Ill even pay my own way. Its really the company that would be appreciated. Thank goodness for David who saves me on the weekends. He has been such a lifesaver. Words cannot express what he means to me. Yesterday, after dealing with 24 hours of having a fever reaching 103 degrees -twice! And having passed out in the bathroom, hitting my face on the toilet (bleeding was involved), I started feeling sorry for myself. Luckily that only lasted for 5 minutes! Gotta keep movin, gotta keep movin. Im not complaining about my life. Im just letting you know what Im going thru and kind of reaching out. 15 months of dealing with Cancer treatments mostly by myself is taking its toll. The sight of a friendly face once in a while would be so nice. In the meantime.....Onward and Upward!
