Do women really use backbiting and other forms of indirect - TopicsExpress

Do women really use backbiting and other forms of indirect aggression to demoralise their female competitors, particularly when competing with another to secure a mate? Thats the conclusion of research carried out by Dr. Tracy Vaillancourt, leading psychologist at the University of Ottawa in Canada. This is Dan Damon with World Update, bringing Dr. Vaillancourt into debate with feminist Bea Campbell, who says womens competitive behaviour is created by men in their pursuit of power over women. Are you a woman who has experienced humiliating, insulting put downs by other women? Is it an instinctive part of womens behaviour, as Dr. Vallaincourt suggests, or something created by social conditioning? How do men compete for the attention of women? Has this kind of primitive competition changed as our societies and communications become more sophisticated?
