Do you LOVE Mexican food but dont like all the sodium & fat? One of the topics I enjoy sharing with our Get Fitters is how to flavor your food. The main seasoning I use is my homemade taco packets: 1 tbsp Chili powder 1 tbsp Cumin 1 tbsp Garlic powder 1 tbsp Onion powder Combine all 4 with 1 pound of meat (lean ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey) Today I took my taco recipe a step further and added VEGGIES!! If you have trouble eating enough veggies, try putting veggies in a food processor then adding them to the mixture. I combined 3 pounds of 99% ground turkey, my taco seasoning, 3 eggs, 1 can of organic blank beans, & 4 cups of spinach in my Ninja crockpot. I then took grape tomatoes, broccoli, leek, eggplant, & mushrooms and processed them into a liquid consistency. Added everything to the crockpot. This made a great HIGH PROTEIN and VEGGIE meal. 6 oz of this mixture with organic tortilla chips and Greek yogurt was a perfect low sodium and filling meal. I didnt even taste the veggies because of the wonderful spices used to flavor. Try it! Experimenting in the kitchen is fun!!
