Do you ever notice how some people expect their dog to behave like a stuffed animal? The second the dog shows some sign of active intelligence, they decide that he’s too much effort. That’s OK because Lucky’s family never appreciated the exquisite dog that he is. When he was surrendered, they took every opportunity they could grab to bad mouth this spectacular boy. Lucky’s age is estimated at around 2-4 years old & he’s an exquisite German Shepherd mixed with boxer. By now Lucky is so confused that he’s become quite agitated in the Manhattan shelter environment. That happens sometimes with the smartest of dogs. Lucky was so upset that his behavior eval couldn’t be completed and now he’s labeled as a New Hope Only adoption. Lucky is indeed a distressed dog at this point and he needs an understanding and loving human to heal his broken spirit. What he’s going to get tomorrow is a walk to the Euthanasia Room. Will you advocate for Lucky? He needs every one of us in his corner if he is to survive through the day tomorrow.
