Do you know about the leafy seadragon? This fish species is endemic to southern Australia, where it is found from Geraldton in Western Australia to the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria. This species belongs to the same family as pipefish and seahorses and resembles them with its long snout and bony-plated body. It has a number of leaf-like appendages along its body which help to camouflage the fish against the seaweed in its habitat. Interestingly, it is the male leafy seadragon rather than the female that carries the developing eggs on the underside of its tail...
