Do you know how much money you need to make to live in the cheapest place in America? We did a show on this in the past on raising minimum wage but we never broke down the exact amount a family would need per hour to make it. A childless resident of South Dakota would need to make $10.20 an hour, $3 more than the current minimum wage of $7.25, to have financial security, according to Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW). For those who do have one child, his or her wage would need to be $17.50 to “achieve basic economic security,” What are your thoughts on raising minimum wage to at least 10.20?
