Do you know the main reason Titanic sank? Also do you know what makes the climate of Earth pleasant (most of the times) for us to live without needing artificial climate control in most places? Now that is quite counter-intuitive given that ice is a solid form of water and almost all the solids are denser and thus heavier than their liquid forms, so whats so special about Ice?
