Do you know what it means to be kind? Just to be truly selfless, and to have humility? Could you do something for someone without them even asking and not because you need something in return? Could you except someone’s offering and say ‘thank you’ without a complaint? Really, there’s no such thing as good and bad, black and white, because everyone is a little of both. And I’m not saying I’m a saint either. But, to have compassion, and truly care for someone without benefitting yourself, could that be satisfying enough? You say you want to live your life to be happy? But, that is still a selfish act. I’m not talking about because you believe in some holy deity or you’re trying to follow the Ten Commandments. But, to give without gain, to love without doubt, and to hold on without fear, ask yourself do you know what it means to be kind?
