Do you know where the name Palestine comes from? It is Roman in origin, and it is Latin for Philistine. The Romans purposely renamed the Land of Israel as the land of the no-longer-existing Philistines (the ancient arch-enemies of Israel) as a way to humiliate the Jewish people when they were completely expelled from the land in 135 AD by the Emperor Hadrian. That is why it is particularly interesting for those who claim to be Palestinians, or identify with their cause, claim that the Jewish people have no connection with the land. It is the ultimate irony. Know your history.
