Do you know why top stories sucks ass on Facebook? Because there are a number of people whose posts I want to read, but where I probably wont comment. But Facebook has no way to know Im reading those posts--and without feedback they disappear from top stories. Imagine a user who never comments or likes when they like a post, but only registers their disagreement when they see a post they dislike. Guess what? Facebooks algorithms only have the input of a user who is commenting on certain peoples posts--and without any other data, that person is only going to see posts they hate.
