Do you self-censor? I sure do. I have a few rules: 1. Dont get involved in things you dont understand. 2. Dont get involved in things you cant fix. 3. Remember that you are representing 7,000 people who may not appreciate additional drama in their lives (or even might share a totally different opinion than you do). But I am very conflicted. My grandfather was arrested in Germany for speaking out against the Nazis and he is definitely rolling in his grave lately. (That act split the family to this day, because they knew it put the entire family in danger). Im thinking about him today. Privately, lately, Ive had very passionate conversations with people who I know are self-censoring in public on a range of topics. Their (and my) voice is absent from the media today and I grieve about that. Today I sit with my hand over my mouth and keep quiet. Are you? Does it bug you too that you cant say what you think because you know the consequences are too much (even simple family drama is really tough to deal with)?
