Do you think The 17th Amendment needs to be repealed? True Republican government is divided amongst the many not fortified by the few. We should have never changed the senates election from the states to a direct election of the people. The senate was supposed to represent the states and the house the people. Now we have 2 corrupt halls of Congress represented by party, lobbyists and special interest groups. We have a corrupt executive that wants to be King and an oligarchy Supreme court who follows their own personal views instead of interpreting the Constitution through the writings of its creators, the founders. It is time for an Article V. State convention to restore the Constitution, the peoples rights and to restore states rights as well. - Frank The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures. When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.
