Do you think the Israelis would be in greater danger without a state? Ive got news for you: Gun ownership in Israel is SEVERELY restricted. It is practically impossible for a non-soldier to own a gun, much less carry it around. Had that not been the case, if people living in Israel were able to own and carry any guns they wanted to, the Fogel family that was murdered in the Itamar settlement in 2011 would still be alive. Let me also add that, while the IDF has only about 600,000 total personnel (including both active duty and reserves), getting rid of the state, and thereby also ending gun ownership restrictions, would bring that number up to 7,000,000. Furthermore, as Robert A Heinlein wrote: An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life. Currently in Israel the IDF operates under very strict rules of engagement. Just the other day a soldier was court marshaled and dishonorably discharged for defending himself against an assailant armed with a rifle. An armed civilian population would suffer from no such restrictions. Additionally, getting rid of the state would remove an incredible amount of economic barriers and result in unbelievable prosperity for the entire region. Prosperous people dont throw their lives away in suicide attacks. Prosperous people dont allow terrorists to use their children as human shields (especially if they themselves are armed). Prosperous people do not send their children to free indoctrination schools run by terrorist organizations whos sole purpose is to teach their children to love death. In reality, a free Israel would mean a free Israel. Period.
