Do you work or spend a lot of time around someone that is always negative? A happy heart makes the face cheerful. Proverbs 15:13. A cheerful heart is good medicine. Proverbs 17:22. The JOY of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10. Life is much better when we have spent time with God in worship with a heart of thanksgiving. When you choose to be thankful for what you DO have and what God is going to do (faith), your heart will well with joy. Note: Thankfulness = JOY. We shouldnt waste our time murmuring and complaining, always looking on the negative side of every subject. Instead, we should rejoice giving God thanks, knowing that His JOY will strengthen us to fight the enemy (devil). Yes, we are spiritually stronger when we are living in JOY. You have made known to me the path of life, O Lord; you will fill me with JOY in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11. Living a happy, joyous life is a choice. We have to be careful not to give in to negativity when we are among complainers. People who constantly complain are unhappy people whos negative attitude can be contagious. Its important for Christians to begin each day in worship and prayer. Gods JOY is the only true JOY. Everyday with Jesus, is sweeter than the day before. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with JOY. Psalm 126:3. Now Im not saying we are to be joyous in the midst of grieving. Gods Word tells us there is a season for mourning and sadness. But we must eventually choose to move forward and begin to trust our Father to give us JOY (He will). Give thanks with a grateful heart. As you begin to be thankful, you will begin to feel His JOY. Gods JOY also gives us PEACE. Yes, time with God is a win/win.
