Do your part to put Internet Marketing and Social Media Parasites out of Business in three easy steps. I should be working, but I had to post this. I hate Facebook ads. I hate the University of Phoenix spam, the targeted marketing banners, and the general nuisance that marketing has become on the web. I finally stopped using Firefox and Internet Explorer, and switched most of my social media use to Google Chrome. With the addition of a couple of easy-to-install free plugins, I am able to surf Facebook, Twitter, HuffPo, AOL, Yahoo, and other places on the web without being assaulted by ads (while simultaneously taking bread out of the mouths of people who make their livings trying to figure out what I am doing and marketing to me while I am trying to surf). What I did: Install Google Chrome Install Adblock Plus (adblockplus.org) Install the Adblock Plus Facebook plugin - https://facebook.adblockplus.me/en/ (removes all ads from Facebook, without leaving behind ugly page not found boxes that other ad blockers tend to cause) One benefit to Adblock plus is that it removes the advertisements from YouTube videos 99% of the time. You can do this with IE, but it is much more difficult, and you can do it with Firefox. But I LOATHE Firefox, so I wont be helping with that crappy piece of software. If you use Firefox you deserve annoying ads.
