Doctors Diary #1 ★★★★★★★ She was beautiful ,around 22 years………..when I saw her some years back………brought in stature,when I was working in MGIMS sevagram as casualty medical officer………it was around one p.m and it was Sunday, the emergencies were knocking now and then……She fell from the train in a struggle with a thief who was snatching her purse…………..and when I first noticed, both the uppler limbs just below the shoulder joint were nearly dissociated just below the shoulder joint with vascular compromisation ……..the right lower limb just below the ankle joint was already amputated and the left lower limb ,all the fingers were no more…….. The next day in the Ortho ICU in trauma centre,when I saw her, she was there in the bed……..and the boy ,who has affair with her for around three years was sitting with her……their engagement had already been done…….the marriage was scheduled in about two weeks……………………..and the marriage never materialized, the boy and family took their steps back……. I was just thinking whom we love in this world…..the body,the costume…………Yes ,it was really heartbreaking tragedy,which demanded a big sacrifice,because definitely,with a person who do not have both upper limbs,one lower limb……..the life is not easy………..demands a big heart and sacrifice……..because one who can not even take one glass of water, not even food…….the other may have to feed,by his own hands……………and that too ,for years,,,,,,,to take care for everything…….one who cannot walk……..Is it not so easy to say,that we love someone,but when time tests us,,,,,,,,,,we just pull apart……… -Dr Devender Sachdev Asst.
