Doctors at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, yesterday staged a peaceful protest over unpaid three months salary and alleged victimization by the state government.The doctors, who carried placards, claimed that the state government had refused to pay their wages during the period they embarked on a nationwide strike.They also alleged that the state government recently stopped residency programme at the hospital and resorted to employing doctors as casual workers.Chairman of the Medical Guild LASUTH chapter, Dr Biyi Kufo, said: “The Lagos State government has this apartheid policy towards us. We called it apartheid because it is being applied only to doctors. They initiated the no work, no pay policy, but other unions have gone on strike and were paid.This was a national strike embarked upon by doctors from federal and state hospitals.
