Does anyone else have advice for getting a dog used to having toenails clipped? Mrs. Hudson came to live with us about four months ago. She was already over a year old and hadnt been taught that its OK to let humans handle her paws. I used a Dremel on her predecessor, Houdini, but Mrs. H thinks anything with a motor (vacuum, lawn mower) must be driven out of the kingdom. So clippers seem like the only way. Ive been trying to desensitize her - just touching them to her paws and giving her a treat - and I suppose thatll work over time, but if theres any other approach, Id love to hear it!
