Does anyone want to help us sponsor those in need again? This time there are two small families that need help. One is a senior couple with their disabled son. He tried living on his own but is unable to do so. His parents are aging and on a low income pension. The son is in his late thirties but is at about an six year old level. The second is a single mother with an eight year old girl. The mother is unable to work, due to health issues and is trying to raise her girl on limited funds. In both cases there is not much family involvement/assistance. What we are hoping to do is make up an Easter hamper for each family. Heres our ideas: - Laundry Basket x2 (to put the gifts in) - bag of potatoes each (small bag) - non-perisable food, such as canned soup, sauce, pasta, etc. - bath towel and face cloth each - tooth brush and paste each - dish towel and dish soap - perhaps a snack such as a bag of chips or popcorn - chocolate (of course - apparently the son really loves Peanut Butter Cups) - Anything else you can think of that you would like to donate Naturally, the girls and I have already purchased toys, craft items and such for the girl and boy. We have purchased feminine product for the single mom and nice bath sets for both women. We also have a simple tool kit for the older man and warm gloves and socks for both men. (Since its still so darn cold out) Please let me know if anyone would like to pitch in; any help would be appreciated. These are families living right here in Thunder Bay that need our help. If there is anything that you are able to help with, please list it here so that we dont end up with 15 bags of potatoes and but no chocolate :D Thank you and God bless!
