Does it ever feel like there’s never enough time in the day to make a difference? As parents, many of us feel like we just can’t do enough for our kids; however, thanks to the generous financial support of the Albany community, you have made an enormous impact on your child’s education. Because of you, we are pleased to announce that SchoolCARE has pledged almost $290,000 to the Albany Unified School District for the 2013-2014 school year. We are a small community that has made our schools a top priority. This money will fund: -Cornell, Marin and Ocean View Elementary Schools: Reading, Math and English Language Intervention specialists during the school day and hourly staff for additional help; -Albany Middle School: Counseling funds that help to support two full time positions and longer hours at the library because of a library technician position; -Albany High School: Funding toward four elective sections to enhance choice and flexibility, longer hours at the library because of a library technician/aide and peer tutoring (FLEX) program to help students who are struggling; -MacGregor High School: Funding towards the culinary arts program.
