Dog of the Day is OSO. He is in dire need of a foster home so please share! Hi,Im Oso, a handsome Golden Retriever mix, about 4 years old, in desperate need of a foster home. I recently was found to have heart worms, and am in recovery. I desperately need a kind soul that will let me lay low for 2-3 months while I heal. As you may know, heart worms can be very deathly, so its important that I stay calm and dont have any excitement for a while until they are all gone. The doctors say I will recover well as long as I stay calm. For this reason, I need a home without other dogs so I dont get excited. My story is unique: I approached some good samaritans outside a restaurant in Mexico. I was very thin and tired, with a bad facial injury and unable to put weight on my hind left leg. Thankfully they took me in and got me the veterinary treatment I needed. My facial injury has healed, although I will probably always have a scar. My left hind leg seems OK, although I slightly favor it when I get tired. Im grateful they got me the help I needed and are continuing to help me find my forever home.Im gentle and love being around people and being pet. Im a less active dog who is good with other dogs (as long as they dont growl first) and children. Im a quick learner and they are teaching me to ignore hostile dogs. Im house trained, know how to use a doggie door and walk well on a leash. Im mostly silent, but I can bark if I want to. Everything is so new and interesting to me that it takes me a little while to process everything around me. I was taken to the beach and although I was fascinated with the ocean, I tried not to get my paws wet if I could avoid it, but I did enjoy myself. Afterwards they gave me a bath in their shower which I submitted to gracefully. Please spread the word so that I can have a chance to be a free, happy, healthy dog with a family someday!
