Dog on a chain Our dog was chained up all summer to keep him out of the garden. one day my husband decided it was time to let him loose and of course he ran wildly around jumping and barking extremely excited. he was finally free from the chain that held him captive beneath a tree. there were times when his chain would get tangled up around the tree where he could barely even move. we went time and time again untangling the chain from the tree. but now he was free from all of the tangles of the chain, he was free from its limits, he was free from it being around his neck and holding him back from the places he wanted to go. he was free at last. later on that day I went outside and was looking for the dog. I found him.... beside the tree where the chain was still tangled up. he was lying beside it as though he was still attached to the chain. As I watched the dog i wondered how many times have we been freed but it feels so familiar lying by the chain. the chain wasnt holding the dog anymore or limiting him but yet there he was acting like he was still chained up. I said to the dog...you are free you can go anywhere you want.....and yet he stayed beside the chain. we can be freed but unless we believe we are free it is like laying down beside the chain that has held us captive. we go back to the confines of the limits of what chained us. unless we believe it we go back to place that tangled us up. were actually still free. its just our mind doesnt believe it and we remain a captive by a chain tangled in the tree that is no longer attached to you. just like my sweet collie dog. eventually my dog believed that he was free and no longer visited the chain tangled up in the tree. Dont allow chains of familiarity, chains of your past limit you anymore... So if the Son sets you free,you will be free indeed John 8:36.... the chains are no longer attached to you......Get up.....get going......for Jesus has set you free its time you believe it. blessings
