Dont Worry JJ, its not new for you , you have seen this before. The current incident forced me to share an Article my Sister wrote about 2 years back When JJ performed Dil Dil Pakistan live in Canada aur hum sab Taqway ke Ala darjay pe faiz , Nihayat Pakeeza awam made JJs life as hell. Here is the Article for you: JJ’s ….From Heart to Heart! Dil Dil Pakistan The heart throb of millions of Pakistanis, in and outside the country, performs ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ Live in Canada after 15 years---- A sin or a Virtue! A musical nature, a spirit full of rhythm and a soul having the divine power to improvise and arrange the random, scattered notes into one beautiful melody! Why do we want to snatch this rare and God-gifted talent from our dazzling and ever-loved Juniad? A glance on what we know about Junaid? As we turn the pages of past, we see a star in the making , young , brilliant, educated and fortunate enough to earn a quick fame through his debut performance ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ , a patriotic song produced by the veiled master Shoaib Mansoor. Launched in 1987, Junaid kept in high demand by his fans even when separated from Vital Signs. In year 2000, he released his last album ‘Dil ki Baat’ and altered his inclination more towards the religious side and entered a new realm of life. Critical view of People’s reaction He being the victim of much criticism, it has been obvious that not many people open heartedly accepted the New Look and Persona of Junaid. One could clearly feel the air of disgust and repulsion amongst the pseudo modern class of Pakistan over losing their glamorous music icon. Instead of showing tenderness and acceptability for his decision of promoting Islamic culture by composing Nasheeds, Naats and Hamds etc. the same “Critical Class” disapprove his media appearances and tend to stigmatize his as Half- witted and “Neem Maulvi”. They somehow believed that they pose every right to decide for his life and limit his does and don’ts by passing sweeping statements like “He only composes Naats to satisfy his Musical Thirsts” or “Don’t be fooled, he is serving a Lobby!” Now here is the point whether he is serving a lobby? Or a lobby is opposing and defaming him is the question! It seems pretty much of an easier job to doubt the intentions of the person who clearly is striving to become a devout Muslim and trying to make use of his vocals as a medium to promote Islam and nationalism. Negative criticism on his performance of a song that is just a little less famous then the National Anthem explains the hateful nature of the lobby that wants to let down his deeds to propagate Nationalism. It wouldn’t be unjust to conclude, that if he is given the right level of acceptability with an open and welcoming heart, his charisma can make a significant difference in the life of Pakistani youth especially, and in everybody else’s life in general ,who thinks his work is worth it. Let’s not assume that singing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ is abandoned on the owner of this song and makes him any lesser Muslim.
