Dont ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and - TopicsExpress

Dont ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. --Howard Thurman Ladies and gents, I cannot recommend this book enthusiastically enough. If you arent already familiar with Brené Brown--her TED talks, books, and research--you are missing out on a gateway into a whole new world of understanding. Her explorations into shame, vulnerability, creativity, and connection are the very essence of what makes human life meaningful (AND what holds us back). I have had so many a-HA moments while reading this book; been moved to tears more times than I could count; felt validated in ways that I have spent my whole life yearning for and trying to understand. After finishing this book, I have come to understand that a project which I have now dreamt of for years--returning to/creating a blog of my own--is not at all about commercial viability, popularity, or even (though Id very much like it to be) an ability to help others. It is about feeding my own spirit and expressing my thoughts and creativity in a way that I find meaningful. Just as a private journal would do. My writing can no longer be ignored...or rather, I can no longer ignore my own writing. This is a creative outlet which I NEED to follow in order to feed my soul. It is a way for me to come alive. Big things for/from me, coming soon. You heard it here first, folks.
