Check the event page below for more details: US Civil Rights leader Carlos Saavedra will be crossing the Atlantic and visiting the UK in February. His first stop will be Cardiff. Carlos founded the DREAMers movement in the US, organising and mobilising millions of undocumented young Latinos, and forcing the Obama government into providing a pathway to citizenship for 1.5 million students formerly classified as illegal Carlos was described by The Huffington Post as [the individual whose] movement almost single-handedly changed the direction of the Obama administration’s immigration policy’. He’s coming to Cardiff to tell his story to other campaigners and activists, and how he believes a positive stance on immigration can be a vote winner in politics.
