Dont settle for second best! The original - 52nd Annual Fan Holiday House Tour is December 13 and 14 from 1 to 6pm! Something for everyone from ultra-modern to classic and traditional. Located in an old Brown’s Distributing warehouse in Richmond’s uptown gallery district, Try-me is a private art space that takes its name from the popular Try-me soda pop that was bottled there from the 1920s to the 1950s. The building is owned by patrons of the arts, Pam and Bill Royall, and houses a portion of their contemporary art collection including major works by Sean Scully, Donald Sultan, Shepard Fairey, Thornton Dial, Tara Donovan, and Kehinde Wiley. Though it is not a public gallery, the Royalls offer the Try-me space to artists, art educators and a variety of events that support the art community throughout the year. To learn more about this unique art space in the heart of Richmond’s Fan gallery district and take a virtual tour the current collection, visit try-me.org. Go to our websites, fantourrichmond or fandistrict.org for more information and to buy tickets. Photos by Tony Giammarino and Mona Dworkin.
