Dont weed out those small leaves! Older stems of lilies produce stem bulblets - genetic copies of the original lily bulb you planted a year or two ago. If you allow them to grow on for another couple of years, youll have encouraged your lily to naturally divide and increase in your garden without any work outside of being careful while you weed. The first photo is Oriental bulblets, the second is of faster growing Asiatics, and you can see that they are starting to look a bit more mature.
