Dora the doxie worked on off leash heeling today! Thanks to E-Collar Technologies she is a heeln fool! remote collar training (aka shock collar or e-collar) has really helped Dora learn to focus on obedience commands, and trust her handler. She has a human bite history, and from what Ive seen, her bite history is likely rooted in existing an anxious state of mind. She frantically scampers from one event to another, which drives her anxiety and adrenaline in the home. Holding her accountable for executing each obedience command helps her to focus. It seems like such a simple process. Even petty at times to correct Dora (or any dog really), for not adhering to an obedience command, but corrections are needed to calmly lead the dog out of an unbalanced state of mind. When a dog is clear on what their job is, and what behavior the do need to be expressing, a dog can make the right choice to relax and behave as a calm family dog.
