Douglas Mwonzora ****** The crisis in Zimbabwe continues to escalate with a fierce power struggle between the two Zanu PF factions who are battling to succeed Mugabe spilling into the public domain. One of Mnangagwas people was heard saying that Mai Mujuru has the brain of a locust which shows the disdain that some people in Zanu have for the Vice President. The same official went rampant on Radio ZiFM lambasting foreign Minister Mbengegwi as having been a sell-out during the war. The fights are now so open with Temba Mliswa labelling Minister Mnangagwa a mafia boss. According to Mugabe there are people in Zanu PF who have ordered a media blackout on Gedion Gono. Previously Mai Mujuru has come out openly denouncing Zim-Asset largely seen as written by Jonathan Moyo, a Mnangagwa loyalist. Because of the infighting in Zanu PF, the officials have taken a sabbatical on national issues. The economy continues on a downward spiral and there will be no solution in sight because of the terrible dis-cohesion in Zanu PF. Companies continue closing thus exacerbating the disastrous unemployment situation in Zimbabwe. Although Mugabe has evidence of some people including ministers accepting bribes he has displayed no ability to deal with them. The situation in hospitals is extremely dire. In fact ever since the theft of elections by Zanu PF, Zimbabweans have been living in poverty and misery. We need to take charge of our destiny. To that end the MDC must unite and strengthen itself as a credible change agent. We must all heed President Tsvangirais call for unity and cohesion in the Party. The situation in Zimbabwe is ripe for the democratic revolution. Therefore all the MDC members must put aside their petty differences and concentrate on the grant national objective which is to take over governmental power through peaceful, democratic and constitutional means. Victory is Certain!
