Dover Intermediate School (DIS) is one of 17 Northeast Ohio schools invited to participate in this year’s GE Girls program, an outreach effort to excite and retain interest of sixth-grade girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). GE Lighting, in partnership with Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Play House, supports GE Girls, part of a nationwide GE Women’s Network and GE Volunteers. DIS students spent Oct. 22 at Case Western Reserve University for a kickoff event. Between November and April, the program will provide five, one-hour onsite activities by volunteers at the school. Students will participate in a wrap up event in May. Read more at westlake.k12.oh.us/School%20Publications/News%20Releases/News%20Releases%202014-2015/GEGirls.pdf
