Downsizing! This mare is our pride and joy but with a change of jobs weve decided to offer Star for sale in order to fully commit to Backfires training and showing. She is the mare that produced Backfires Reserve Champion colt for us this year and is for sale WITH a breeding to Backfire for those that want it! More about her... Star is a 14.3hh 1999 chestnut sabino Arabian mare. She is broke to ride, with a solid foundation in Dressage from Tracy Rowe of Rowe Stables. She is calm, sensible and all around easy to handle. She was used lightly as a trail horse this fall and was fantastic, going through water, up and down steep hills and never backed down. Suitable for a rider 13 & up with confidence. Star is forward moving but polite and listens to her rider. Although she is best when worked regularly, she can sit for long periods of time (years even) and have a successful ride (no buck, bolt, rear etc). She loads good into a trailer but prefers not to be tied. Fantastic with all usual barn noises/animals (cats, dogs, cows, chickens etc) and is perfect for the farrier, vet and chiropractor. Stands quiet for grooming/tacking and leads out great. Rides great with equine traffic in a indoor and outdoor arena and is not easily spooked. She is currently in a show barn and had a month of refresher training in September 2014 and was lightly used in the lesson program for intermediate+ riders successfully. Star is also a phenomenal broodmare, she has had 2 foals, one when I owned her and one when my mother owned her. Both colts, good sized and beautifully put together. Her last colt was from this year and was shown to Reserve Champion Halter horse at EMAA this fall. I left her open this year, but will include a breeding to my stallion. Great mother, cycles regularly and stands solid for live cover. Located in Hudsonville, MI. $3500.
