Dr. Ananya Gandotra - Head, Technical Services Group, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces confirms as a speaker for Design Mission India 2013 ( Mumbai & Delhi Edition). Dr. Gandotra leads the team of architects and engineers which comprise the Technical Services Group for the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). Her proficiency is Design Management, Master Planning, Project Implementation, Statutory Compliance, Brand Standards, Value Engineering, Contract Management, Architectural Research and Practice. She is instrumental in the implementation of the Technical Services Agreement for all Management Contract projects for the Taj Hotels across India and International. She also oversees Design documentation and management for all IHCL Greenfield projects. As a highly qualified professional with a flair for delivery, her career spans 20 years across diverse assignments including Hotels, IT SEZ, Commercial, Residential, Plotted and Mixed Use Developments. She is registered with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and empanelled with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Prior to joining Taj, she worked with India’s foremost Real Estate Developers DLF as Chief Architect and as Head, Design and Planning at a leading Real Estate Developer. Her successful and distinctive career encompasses being a Research Associate with AHRC, UK funded research program in Central India. Her keen interest in engineering and construction was highlighted during her works on Underground Metro rail project in Delhi with Pell Frishmann Prabhu. Dr. Gandotra holds a doctorate in Architecture from Cardiff University, Wales, UK, besides having a Masters degree in Design from India’s premier engineering institute: Indian Institute of Technology- Delhi. She has graduated in Architecture in 1993 and was awarded the Best out going student award by Mangalore University. Her recently published book titled, Temple Architecture - Analysis of Plans, Sections and Roof Form, 2011, 3 Vol., is being well received by the academia across the globe. In her next architectural research work she is keen to explore the strong relationship between India and China through a study of geometry and proportions of ancient structures, bridging space and time.
