Dr. Frank Macchia is a treasure for the kingdom of God. He has been teaching a doctoral course for our AGTS students this week and everyone is enjoying the experience. My times of fellowship have been rich and it is a delight to call him my brother. I commend his books to all as models of excellent scholarship, an irenic spirit and Pentecostal conviction. Last week Dr. Wave Nunnally offered an elective in Intertestamental Judaism to our Bible and Theology doctoral students and they are still talking about his command of the material, excellent presentations, and his passion for accuracy and truth. First year Ph.D. students are feasting on a variety of interdisciplinary topics, with Brandon Schmidly on philosophy, Warren Newberry on missiology, Greg Ojakangas on science and Johan Mostert connecting psychology and theology. Friday I will pull all these disciplines together and challenge our scholars toward academic integration as part of their whole-life discipleship. I want to thank God for my colleagues that are on a journey with me as we unite the best of CBC, EU and AGTS into a new university and seminary that will equip women and men for kingdom service in all domains. It is fun serving leaders that want to learn and appreciate the value of the the education we offer.
