Dr. Herbert E. Brooks, Jr., 61, a lifelong resident of Pasadena died on August 23, 2013 at John Hopkins Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to Herbert E. Brooks, Sr. and the late Mary Brooks. Dr. Brooks earned his PhD in telecommunications. He retired from the US Army in 2012 where he traveled abroad for much of his career. His hobbies included target shooting, hiking camp...ing, and traveling. In addition to his mother, Dr. Brooks is preceded in death by his sister Gloria Brooks. Dr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Fang Lin Brooks of Pasadena, his son Anton Yang and his wife Sabrina of Pasadena, his daughters; Carrie Brady and her husband Michael of Annandale, VA , Mary Brooks-Hnyla and her late husband Gary, Jr. of Pasadena and their mother Donna Rogers of Pasadena, his father Herbert Brooks, Sr. of Pasadena, his brother David Brooks and his wife Candice of Owings Mills, his sister Nancy Blevins and her late husband Daniel of Pasadena, his grandchildren; Jami, Megan, Derek, Jenni, Aiden, Alex, Dakota, and Dylan, and his nieces Jeanie and Crystal.
