Dr. Holcomb had a profound impact on my life. As a freshman at Gordon his Intro to Sociology class helped me fall in love with the subject and I went on to major in Soc and take every one of his classes I possibly could. He was an incredible teacher - passionate about his work and always pushing his students to stretch and challenge themselves. Somehow he made every student feel like they were special to him and had something to offer the world. Those formative years under his guidance and the following years that we have stayed in touch have helped to shape my worldview. Our discussions on gender, race, poverty, wealth, politics, religion and God have all helped to mold me into who I am today. Dr. H - I would not be the same person I am today without your presence in my life and Im so grateful to have known you. Thank you for always being one of my biggest fans. You will be greatly missed.
