Dr Shahid Bin Zeya, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University is on a month long visit to Germany under INSA-DFG fellowship (International collaboration/Exchange Programme). He is working with Dr Stefan Schmidt, Curator for Hymenoptera, Zoologische Staatssammlung, ZSM, Munich, Germany on the project proposal ‘A DNA Barcoding approach to egg parasitoids of the family Mymaridae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea).’ Dr Zeya who has been associated with the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, left for Germany on October 30. He has also experience of working at Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute, Pampore, Kashmir and Central Tasar Research and Training Institute, Ranchi as Scientist for fifteen years. He has extensively worked on various aspects of Sericulture, which is evident by his various research papers, technical reports and a book entitled “Pests and diseases of Mulberry and their management.” Dr Zeya has over twenty years of research experience. Dr Zeya is currently working as a Co-PI, in the ICAR Network Project on Insect Biosystematics and successfully completed a UGC major research project on Indian Mymaridae as PI. Recently, he has been sanctioned a DST major project on Indian Encyrtidae as PI. He has published a number of research papers on Insect taxonomy in the peer reviewed journals at the National and International levels and has a monograph on “a revision of the Indian Species of Gonatocerus Nees (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Mymaridae)” in the journal, Oriental Insects. Dr Zeya joined the Department of Zoology, AMU as Associate Professor in 2009. His area of research is Taxonomy of Chalcid wasps (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea). #APROAMU
