Dr. Socs Blog Its been awhile since I have written. The past week was incredible. I had the opportunity to meet the famous island artist, Roland RIchardson, along with celebrity chef, Dino Jagtiani to discuss their new Temptation Cookbook (on air) which has so much to offer, from recipes, art, photography and poetry. What a treat! I also had the opportunity to have a fantastic meal at Cugini Sxm, which recently opened on the Dutch side of St. Maarten right next to Island 92 and the Federal Express Building. What a TREMENDOUS treat! Be sure to visit them. The best part was that I was able to do this with 28 of my friends from the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten, along with several guests and visitors. I am bit dismayed by the administrator of the Facebook page called SXM or BUST. He has chosen to ban me from the page because I am friends (not just Facebook friends, but actual friends) with people who started the Pirates of SXM Facebook page and I offered to assist with the administration of the page. Apparently their some sort dispute between the people who started the Pirates page and the SXM or BUST page. None of it has anything to do with me, and the Administrator of the SXM or BUST page has chosen to ban me. How childish? My role as a radio personality is to share information, promote our island and help the community. That is my entire interest in belonging to such groups. Of course, I hope I make a few friends along the way. Shame on the SXM or BUST administrator! I hope someone shares this blog on SXM or BUST so those page members will know the truth about what is happening. I have never made this personal, for me it is about striving to do my job in the most professional manner possible. Despite this level of disappointment, the week ended with a fantastic visit to the ACE School, which is near the Cakehouse. Friends and members of the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten visited the children of the ACE School for a Holiday Pizza Party (Thank Dominos) and some great Christmas caroling led by my dear friend Christine Gordon. Thank you Christine for sharing your beautiful voice and talents with a group of children that most certainly enjoyed every note! This morning, I get ready to head out with the Island 92 team to broadcast live from Karakter Beach Bar for another great event - the 2nd annual Karakter Beach Olympics - all to benefit the Sister Regina Primary School in Simpson Bay.
