Draw the right conclusions from adversity Natural disasters are becoming more frequent. The Lord Jesus Christ had predicted that it would be similar to the pain of childbirth that gradually increase in strength and frequency, mt.24: 8. This is what we see now; fires, tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, droughts, and what not. 1. The situation Ishmael, a descendant of the Jewish royal family, kills Gedaliah whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the cities of Judah, read Jé.41. The Jews were afraid Nebucanetsar make them all die because of this distrust to his power. Against the will of God, they decide to flee to Egypt. 2. The explanation of God God explains their precarious situation because they offered cakes to the queen of heaven (Jé.44: 1-14). 3. The Jews have come to a diametrically opposite conclusion to that of God to explain their misfortune. For them, it is the abandonment of a practice that irritates God who is the cause of their misfortune. It seems incredible, but what about us? Do we still have a tortuous heart to the point of being miserable for abandoning a practice that angers God and consider returning to this practice by imagining regain some joy in life? The Jews say: . It was going so well when we offered our cakes to the queen of heaven They realized that if it was going well, its because God was patient with them in the expectation that they will repent. Similarly, in his patience with us, we can enjoy a certain well-being in the things of the world, but the Lord, for our ultimate good, can not let this go on indefinitely. If we are his children, as a good Father, he will correct us and take away our society life for the deprivation, we come to realize what can really make us happy, read Hebrews 12. The trap is to do as the Jews and poorly analyze the situation thinking that our unhappiness is caused by deprivation of worldly things and then try to find the worlds goods lost in adversity. Attitude quite contrary to what God wants it to happen in us; repentance following the completion of our distance from the Lord and a strong desire any to approach God without any regrets of worldliness. 2Co.7: 10 For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation not to be repented it, but the sorrow of the world produces death. Here is a concrete example, you lose your job (not necessarily a result of a natural disaster) and can not make your payments on several items that we are touted by the company as essential to our well-being. How will you react? Will you depress and sigh after the loss of your property that provided you a relative well-being? Will you devote all your energy to get them back? Or will you take the opportunity to get in yourself and reconsider your priorities? This could cause you to realize that it is God who has allowed this for your ultimate good. You take so aware that you have not sought first the kingdom of God and you let the thorns and brambles (property and cares of this life) choke the good seed of the Word of God in you. You would see then that is when you had all those things that you were poor, blind and naked because these things numb your soul and you were not able to grasp the seriousness of your critical spiritual state. You would then have the opportunity to start on a new basis and enjoy the fullness of the Spirit which is far more satisfactory than the temporary enjoyment of worldly goods. Es.55: 1 All you who are thirsty, come to the waters, and he that hath no money; Come, buy and eat, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price! 2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? And your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul delight itself in fatness. 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you I wish you did not have to go through adversity and losing all your assets to achieve what property the best you must first search for your own happiness and for the glory of God.
