Driving to work tonight is bittersweet. This is my last drive south on 35 to travel to work. After 15 years of working night shift, tonight is my last night shift, as well as my last at JPS Emergency Department. I have worked with some of the most amazing doctors, nurses, medics, emts, clerks, environmental service associates, and volunteers. I have had the privilege to take care of some amazing people and have learned something from EVERYONE I have come in contact with! From patient, to their family, to coworkers, peers, it doesnt matter title, etc. I have learned from everyone. For that I am humbled, but immensely grateful!!! I truly appreciate life in a different manner than I did even 3 years ago when I started JPS! I will truly miss the ED!!! I will miss my coworkers! Most of all, I will miss my employees that came in shift after shift ready to conquer another crazy, exhausting (mentally, physically, and emotionally) and sometimes traumatic, BUT OH SO ENTERTAINING night in the ED!!! The work ethic is astounding and willingness to have me blow up their personal phone begging them to come in because we, once again, need more staff! I am more than blessed to have had this opportunity! All I can say is THANK YOU! To everyone. And I do mean EVERYONE!! When one door closes, another opens! I am excited about the new adventure in my near future!!!! God is amazing and works mysteriously....but it is His work for sure!!!
