Drove off a back road and into the marsh today while looking for a quiet place to exercise an energetic dog. After losing two shoes in the mud and walking hither and yon, I was finally able to get to a phone and call Dave Yorke. Sunday afternoon at lunch time . . . but out he came, and it wasnt an easy place to get to! Others came back with me and tried to help but I had by then all-wheel-driven her up to the axels and she wasnt going anywhere. David crawled and wriggled through the mud, hooked my car to a heavy chain and 3 minutes later she was high and dry! What a guy!!!! May I suggest that any one smart enough to carry a cell phone put Daves number in their wallet for just such an emergency! Thanks David Yorke, you are my hero! Also thanks to the wonderful gentleman named Philip who kept my dog in the shade and got him water while I ran around looking for help as the tide crept closer! Yikes . . . what an afternoon. Good old Parrsboro people, you gotta love em!
