Dry & Chilly as We Head Into the Weekend SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It’s a cool, breezy morning with still come clouds but the winds will ease today and we’ll some sunshine too. It will be seasonably cool today with highs in the middle to upper 30s. As winds turn in from the east on tomorrow moisture off the Atlantic some clouds will increase and the clouds will stick around into Sunday as well. Some sprinkles or light mist or flurries will try to reach us on Sunday. This will not amount to much and will not impact your travels as you head off to the malls. As we head into next week the attention turns to a storm that develops over the Plains then tracks northeast into the Great Lakes as we approach Christmas. A surge of warm air and rainfall ahead and east of the storm will push into New England starting Tuesday afternoon as a few showers. Occasional mostly light rain or showers will continue into Wednesday before a plume of tropical moisture arrives. Rain Wednesday could become heavy at times as it turns very windy and mild. Some street flooding is possible and wind gusts may be strong enough for some power outages Christmas Eve. The rain may end as some snow showers or flurries so a white Christmas isn’t completely off the table! Right now it looks like any and all precipitation will be done by dawn Christmas Day. It’s blustery and colder with clouds and maybe some passing flurries. Keep in mind we are still nearly a week away from this storm hitting so the rain vs. snow potential and specifics are still certainly subject to change! Have a great weekend! Dan Brown
