Dude, Have you ever watched a movie that just gave you chills? Not - TopicsExpress

Dude, Have you ever watched a movie that just gave you chills? Not like because you were scared of what was shown but because what you see on the big screen or what you see in the comfort of your own home makes you extremely uncomfortable? An example would be like the movie Human Centipede or Silence of the Lambs. Its not a scary movie really it just gives you that uncomfortable feeling like Why the hell do people watch this kind of shit? It produces a very offbeat feeling when you are watching it. I know that this idea actually makes really good movies because of the visual impact it has. That is the art of a good movie. It makes you go though phases or like roller coaster type emotions or feelings that are unlike any other. A book will do the same thing. Just by the way it was written you think This is crazy how I am sitting in a quiet room staring at a piece of paper with a bunch of words and no pictures for hours because I am mesmerized by the way the author worded things and painted a picture of the scenario. Now, Have you ever got that feeling from a song? I dont mean like a song that makes you feel invincible or sends you to a different world much like a drug or something. I mean like you listen to a song and as you are listening to it you just think Man WTF was this person/band thinking when they wrote this song? I felt that when I was listening to Eminems Kim. I dont know if you have heard this song before but it freaks me the hell out because he just paints an incredible picture of what he is going through. I know it might be just a story designed for that reason but this feels extremely real. I listened to it and felt like I was in a bad dream or something and it made me wish it would hurry up and end. I know you are thinking well just change the song but you almost dont want to do it because you are so entranced into the song that you want to find out what happens at the end. I guess to sum up this rant I always new how powerful media can be but never knew that different types of media can produce the same measurement of power. I love bands like System Of A Down because they not only have strong lyrics that pack a punch but also the melody of the song also has intense power that makes me almost drift off like a trip on acid (not that I would know what that was like) and sends you on a journey in itself. Eminem never came off as that type of person to do that. I remember when I first heard one of his songs, I believe it was Real Slim Shady. Classic song that everyone knows. Even if you never heard of Eminem you know that song. However it didnt do anything even remotely close to what a movie or a good book would do. However I heard this song and i was just blown away with how strong it was. It really surprised me. I posted the link to the song for those of you who havent heard it before or those of you who have but maybe not in that light. Tell me what you think of it. Even if you cant stand Eminem or rap music. If you have an open enough mind and want to try something new, give it a listen. I would like to warn those of you who havent heard it before that it is EXTREMELY heavy in vulgarity and violence so if you have a week stomach or if you are not use to that type of exposure, listen with caution. Please comment after and give your feedback. I find it fascinating how even though I dont support his views and expressions I still chose to put a great deal of thought in the creativity of it. https://youtube/watch?v=TNXYvidMaTM
