Due to a child behavior misdemeanor yesterday, my children were doomed to three days of no screens. (Que: screams of anguish.) So this is how they handled day #1 - They went downstairs together this morning to make their own breakfast and play Candy Land. They packed their pool bags and went to swim practice. They happily went food shopping and to a doctors appointment with me...all the while using a folding-brush-comb-combo-thingy to take pictures of each other in silly poses. We stopped at a playground to have fun on the tire swing. They filled an hour by filling water balloons and watching them float, roll, bounce, and burst. They got soaking wet. Then they put a few in the freezer to test various frozen balloon theories. Then they checked their freezing balloons every 10 minutes. They danced in the rain after our swim meet was cancelled. Then they dusted off a box of Legos and built an alien playground while waiting for dinner to cook. Last, but not at all least, they rolled and tickled and laughed and told stupid potty-word jokes with Keith before crashing happily into bed. They didnt bicker, they didnt whine. Now THAT is a good summer day!!
