Dungannon Bluebulls STAMPEDE Civil Service 59 to 7 Coaches John McCann and Shane Kennedy were well pleased with the performance of this group of guys. The turn out was very impressive with 19 players available for the game with three others watching because of injury Jordan McCann Ryan Backhouse and Harry Crawford-Sinnamon. This victory was built on a consistent tackling defence together with a solid rucking platform. Michael ONeill surprised everyone by packing down at number 8 joining Peter Lowe and Dans Gulbis in the backrow. Jumping at 2 and 4 Michael ONeill gave us another option in the lineout with taking clean ball with great effect. At the end of the game he finished at fullback after a serious shift in the ruck and tackle. Not to mention a good return from the boot on and off the ground. Great to have a captain who leads by example! Rhys Simpson Shane McKearney Adam Roche Simonas Sersenis and James McKeever bullied the opposition offthe pitch in the loose and ruck. Scrums were unfortunately uncontested. The backline functioned with speed and flair. It was a pleasure to see most of the backs drawing a man and delivering a solid pass with accuracy and purpose to the supporting player Diarmuid Mckeown ran the backs like Napolean. David Paisley and Luke Roche impressed the writer with their decision making and selfless distribution. Peter Lowe and Dan Reynolds put a hard shift in both tackle and the ruck. The writer also saw alot of potential in a Mackay and Bell partnership both of whom are linebreakers with no shortage of determination and commitment in the tackle. The tries were as follows; 1st Carl Bell 2nd Ryan Ross 3rd Brad Mackay 4th Micheal ONeill 5th Dans Gulbis 6th Another ( light did not allow Id of scorer) 7th Ryan Ross 8th Micheal ONeill 9th Luke Roche Player of the Game Micheal ONeill 2 tries and 7 conversions (30 points) Played at no 8 and 15 with ruthless commitment. A word of thanks to Keith Lewis for a well refereed game. Anyone want to claim the 6th try?
