During a beach stroll alone in Bahamas- I was approached by a middle aged man- who in all honestly looked homeless by American definition- we exchanged smiles and continued our own separate journeys on the beach- later that hour as I sat reading a book, a gentle voice came across the wind. I looked up and here was the bearded man standing a few feet from me., of course I quickly grabbed a handful of sand ready to toss in his eyes if he got any closer but as I evaluated the situation, I realized that he was just as uneasy as I was, though in his hand was my sunglasses and a few rollled up dollars- the change from a quick stop for some gum as I was walking out to beach... he asked in a shaky voice is these urs my lady? Perhaps u dropped them earlier? .. I dropped the sand that was clinched in my fist and wiped the excess on my clothing. ..yes yes that is mine thank u for returning those to me...I stood up by this point and he noticed the book I was holding- A New Earth- he grinned and introduced himself as chibuzo from Africa and he was living in Nassau for four years now. I failed to go Into my reason for being on the beach that evening- that just the word vacation seemed, somewhat inappropriate for the man to hear. His eyes was clear and his skin and hair lived in....I said thanks again and bid him farewell and a blessed life, he looked around and smiled and reached his hands out I reached too- and in a instant I knew he was a friend and it was a moment I was to listen- he broke the silence with this- I will never forget this... old eyes see the world as it never can change and a new heart tells the eyes how to see and become what other need- me being the comedian I am whenever im uncomfortable said so my old glasses was left behind for that reason you think? We both laughed and I gave him the money and the glasses- I said without u coming to me tonight I would have kept thinking the world didnt see me and the old view of my life was unchanging- yet tonight u coming to me showed me that the path im on in changing my view is new so new eyes come from my new heart.... that moment is one that sets with me. He said nabajyotisaikia.....which means I respect u.... I looked up his name as I understood it and it means god lead the way.. # lifesjourney open eyes
