During the Fat Activist Conference yesterday someone asked me a question about compromising in relationships. My brain broke a little. A lot of emotion came up & I had to search for the words. I wish I had been more elegant. I think what I told them was that if you keep compromising youll change, little changes over time that will turn into bigger ones. Before you know it you wont even recognize yourself! Youll wake up one morning and shave your head like Britney Spears and run off into the desert. Nobody wants that... In that moment I felt all the anger, confusion, regret and misery that spawned within the self minimalization my sacrificial compromises. I am unwilling to compromise. And while the fear of living this life alone is real. The fear of losing myself is greater. Thank you Juicey D. Light for showing me this clip. Ill keep it as a reminder.
