During the fall of 1968, one of our Recon teams from 3rd Recon Battalion, 3rd Marines, was out on patrol. Throughout the night they could hear movement all around them in the thick darkness of the forest. It was stealthy, patient, as it moved out there in the surreal silence of the night.
