During the last 12-months, 240 Trans* murders have been reported worldwide. This is one murder every day and a half. In the United States there have been 18 reported murders of Trans* people....one every 20 days. Seeing our brothers and sisters slaughtered simply for being themselves is something I can imagine happening to my friends or to me. It infuriates me that people in this world can treat one another like that, where someones life is somehow less valuable or less important. The lives, health and safety of Trans* people are under siege by hate and ignorance. Attacks are not only perpetuated against Trans* identified individuals, but they are committed to threaten and terrorize an entire community.
